It seems like every time Shia Labeouf does an art project, the trolls of the internet find a way of getting involved.

#AloneTogether is the most recent project from Labeouf. According to its website, the project “weaves a virtual link between Kiasma’s vistitors and the artists.” The cabin is in Kiasma museum in Finland and livestreams Labeouf and two of his friends. The unique thing about the project is that neither Labeouf or his friends have access to the internet. Another cool thing about it is that while the three can communicate with those in the cabin, they can’t communicate with each other. The project has a livestream on its website that shows the three artist. While different from He Will Not Divide Us, Labeouf definitely has a point to prove with this project.

But while the cabin is in the Kiasma museum, the location of the three wasn’t disclosed. This didn’t stop those responsible for taking down HWNDU. On the 4chan board /pol/, there’s a collective who have already started the hunt for Labeouf. Even calling it ‘Operation: Cabin Fever.’ According to The Daily Dot, /pol/ had done some digging all while posting it live for others to see. The users on /pol/ even went so far to compare the wood on the walls behind Labeouf to figure out which cabin he was staying in. In an article done by William Hicks on Heat Street, there are screenshots from the forum. In one,  someone has looked at the furniture that was seen in one of Labeouf’s streams and connected it to that of some furniture in a cabin on the Finland and Sweden border.

What’s more, the forum has already begun to troll in person. According to an article on Helsinki Times, trolls from that forum and others similar to it have gone to the museum with MAGA hats. The common goal between this and the takedown of HWNDU is to silence Labeouf for having an opinion and expressing it. With HWNDU, the trolls began to show up to the livestream in MAGA hats, chanted Nazi sayings, and were just flat out rude. The forum /pol/ on 4chan is known is have extremely right wing and conservative views. The users of this forum have been going after Labeouf for as long as he’s been doing these projects. It makes you think when or if they’ll ever give up and let him finish his art.
