Stony Brook Football is hosting the 2015 home opener on Sept. 12th against Central Connecticut State (CCSU) at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium at 6pm.
This will be the 12th time the teams have faced off against each other. The Seawolves have never lost to CCSU at home, and they have only lost three out of the 11 times the teams have met. Last week’s game against the Toledo Rockets resulted in a no-contest after game play was delayed, then paused and eventually canceled due to inclement weather.
Stony Brook University football accepted the invitation to join the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in 2013 in an effort to elevate the athletics program. The Seawolves join schools like the University of Delaware, the University at Albany and Villanova University. The team will also immediately be eligible for the conference championship and automatic bid into the NCAA Division I Football Championship.
The captains for the 2015 season are senior quarterback Conor Bednarski from South Pasadena, Calif., senior offensive lineman Jerry Hubshman from Dunmore, Pa. and linebacker Jeremy Leggiero from Bohemia, N.Y.
Would love to hear my son Josh broadcast your game but can’t find the link to hear it.
