Finals are a stressful time. It is often plagued by late nights, and a diet that isn’t exactly skin friendly– did I mention stress pimples? But just because you are tired doesn’t mean your skin has to look tired as well. Here are some tips, hacks and products that can help keep your skin luminous during the dark days we refer to as finals week.
1. Moisturizing Cleanser
A moisturizing cleanser such as It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser can help keep your skin clean and moisturized at the same time. It may sound redundant but having the right cleanser can make all the difference. Some cleansers can dry your skin out causing an increase in dryness and pimples while others are oily and leave your skin feeling greasy and also cause pimples.
2. A Good Night Oil
While you sleep, your skin repairs itself, so using the right products at night are crucial. Despite the word ‘oil,’ night oils can be used by everyone including those who have sensitive skin. A night oil such as Skin Inc’s Night Oil, which has ingredients such as lavender, can help you relax and vitamins such as C, A, B-12 and E help to repair your skin and improve your skin tone. I find that it is very relaxing and lightweight and leaves my skin refreshed in the morning.
Products that contain Vitamins C can brighten your skin. My favorite product is the Skin Inc Vitamin C Serum. The skin absorbs the product quickly, does not leave a residue on your skin and has no fragrance.
3. Acne-Fighting Foundation
Stress can cause breakouts, and medicated foundation or concealer can help combat those issues. Many companies are making tinted foundations and concealers that have anti-acne ingredients such as salicylic acid. I love the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout concealer, because it helped my break out and didn’t cause any redness or peeling.
4. A Mask
Sheet masks are all the rage, but the truth is is that any type of mask can help revitalize your skin regardless. My favorite type of masks are ones that contain colloidal oatmeal, because they are great for soothing skin. I recommend First Aid Beauty’s Oatmeal Mask or Foreo’s H2Overdose mask, which contains hyaluronic acid, an ingredient that helps with skin hydration.
5. Cleansing Tools
If you are looking for a deeper cleansing experience, certain tools can help.
Foreo has a variety of products in different price ranges. For deep cleaning to use with your moisturizer, Foreo Plays are easy to use. All you need to do is press the on button, and it vibrates which massages your face. What I love about this product is that it left my skin feeling refreshed and most importantly, clean.
The UFO has two sizes and is to be used with masks. The tool utilizes light therapy to allow your skin to absorb the products deeper than normal. It can be used with or without their app. If you use the app and their masks, all you have to do is scan the barcode of the mask, and the UFO does all the work. However, you can also use the UFO with other masks and without the app just as easily.
6. Glamglow Glowstarter
This product gives your skin a nice glow. My favorite way to use this is to put a small amount on my cheeks for an instant healthy glow.
