Finals are right around the corner. For graduating seniors, it is their last few weeks to enjoy being a carefree student from all the responsibilities in our complicated society. For us, it’s just another regular two weeks of school that we want to get rid off in college so that we could start our summer vacation.
Fortunately, as a journalism major, only one of my classes requires me to take a final exam. However, due to my interest in mathematics and linguistics, I now have two more finals to worry about. Truth be told I shouldn’t be complaining because there are people out there with finals for each and every single class that they’re taking.
I stress a lot, and when I do I lose all my capabilities of functioning. In addition, I always find ways to help release it. One of the most efficient ways for me is to exercise. Now I know that it’s impossible for those who have six finals to go to the gym in the next two weeks, but there are still exercises that don’t require being in a recreation center. Take my friend Tony for example; he would perform fifty jumping jacks in the middle of the library back in elementary school whenever he feels tired after reading half a comic book. I would’ve imagine that he’d lose all his energy afterwards, yet Tony always surprises me by finish reading another two of them.
On the other hand, if you prefer something less active, then socializing with pets are the way to go. It is unrealistic for one to spend time and drive to a pet shop while you’re having four finals next week. Hence it is important to scroll through your contact list and find someone who owns a pet. I still remember that I had to walk down 15 blocks in order to liberate my stress with a piglet. Her name was Lulu. With a bowl of salad contained of spinach, kale, and lettuce I spent an hour squatting, watching Lulu’s every single movement. It was a pure and docile treatment that successfully cleared out all the stress that I had in my chest. Even though I ended up failing my exam the next day, I really do appreciate Lulu for everything that she did.
However, if both of these treatments still can’t cure your overwhelming stress level, then I do have one last strategy for you. Study more. My best friend back in high school used to tell me that the only reason you’re stressing so much is because you feel unprepared. There’s no other way to escape from all those stress if you do not feel confident about your tests. Personally I think that this is the best solution for each and every single one of us. Stop wasting time on complaining how much material you don’t understand, and start spending time learning them while you still can! Last but not least, good luck on your exams, and don’t give up until the very end!
