The Binghamton Bearcats shot the lights out of Chase Arena in Hartford, setting an America East Tournament record for most three-pointers made in a tournament game with 17, stomping the UMBC Retrievers 91-65.
Greer Wright led all scorers with 31 points on 11-of-21 shooting (5-of-10) from three point land, and teammate Moussa Camara was right behind him with 30 points.
The Bearcats were 17-of-32 from beyond the arc, shooting 53% which was higher than their overall field goal percentage (52%). The torrential downpour of treys was consistent throughout the game–the Bearcats also set the record for first half threes at 13.
UMBC struggled to guard the Binghamton shooters from start to finish, and point guard Chris De La Rosa was ice-cold from the field (1-of-10, three points.)
Binghamton will take on No. 1 seed Vermont Saturday afternoon at 2:15 p.m.
