Having one player rush for over 200 yards in a game is quite an accomplishment. But seeing two players from the same team achieve that number is almost unheard of.

That is exactly what running backs Edwin Gowins and Conte Cuttino did on Saturday in the Seawolves eye-opening 68-9 non-conference victory over Iona.

The New York Giants beat the previously undefeated New England Patriots 17-14 in the Super Bowl on Sunday. The Giants finished a season full of drama and injuries on a high note, pulling off one of the biggest upsets in NFL history.

The Stony Brook Seawolves shut out the Bryant Bulldogs 32-0, improving to an undefeated 4-0 at LaValle Stadium, and 5-4 overall this season.
It took the Seawolves two overtimes and two 40 yard field goals to hold off the Maine Blackbears in a 30-23 thriller, clinched by a Conte Cuttino touchdown run, in front of a homecoming record crowd of 7,238 at LaValle Stadium.
The Stony Brook Seawolves had their parade rained on Saturday - literally. It was the final home game of the season for the Seawolves. The team’s seniors were honored in a pre-game ceremony. However, it was still a rainy day.
Josh Dudash connected with Lynell Suggs on a 10-yard fade pass with 31 seconds to go to lift Stony Brook to a thrilling 23-21 victory over Central Connecticut State Saturday afternoon, and co-ownership of the NEC Conference championship.

The highlight of homecoming weekend is football, and, in the spirit of the homecoming tradition, the Seawolves delivered. Playing a game in which the Seawolves fought down-in and down-out and never quit, the home team fell just short to the visiting Georgetown Hoyas by a score of 10 - 7. The loss puts them at 1-2 for the season, they remain 0-0 in the Northeastern Conference, with their first conference game coming next week against Monmouth.

The Stony Brook Seawolves gave the near-capacity crowd at LaValle Stadium a home opener to remember, notching Coach Sam Kornhauser’s 100th win in his 22nd and final season at Stony Brook, with a 21-18 victory over the Bucknell Bison. With 6.8 seconds left, freshman Matt Weeks sent a low line drive tumbling through the uprights at LaValle Stadium, breaking an 18-18 tie. With 4.3 seconds remaining, Stony Brook then recovered its own onside kick to send Bucknell packing.
