The Stony Brook Seawolves were introduced to top-tier talent in a big way against the number two ranked team in the nation, the University of Connecticut Huskies. The Seawolves found they have a ways to go before they can compete with the big boys, losing 91-57 in Hartford, Connecticut, this past Monday.

A late Stony Brook charge almost erased a 16 point deficit against the team's Long Island rival, falling 61-56. Demetrius Young led the Seawolves off the bench with 21 points. The loss snapped the team's four game winning streak.

The Stony Brook Seawolves held the Lehigh Mountain Hawks to a season low point total, winning 71-50. Desmond Adedeji and Chris Martin provided the firepower off the bench with a combined 30 points.

The Seawolves lost on Saturday leaving them 1-2 so far this season. The game, played in Pritchard Gymnasium, was close, but the Wagner Seahawks (2-1) prevailed with a 65-62 victory.

This past Sunday morning, 21-year-old Desmond Adedeji was pulled over on the campus’s South Drive and charged with driving while intoxicated. Adedeji will serve a six game suspension, according to a press release from head coach Steve Pikiell.

On March 1, Senior Day, the Stony Brook men’s basketball team (6-22) fell to the Binghamton Bearcats, 49-44 in their final regular season game. It was the last home game for Ricky Lucas, Mitchell Beauford, and Emanuel Neto. The trio scored 10, 10 and 9, respectively.

The Stony Brook women’s basketball team lost to UMBC on Feb. 13, 62-49, dropping their record to 6-17.
