Manny Ramirez in pinstripes is a scary thought to many people. Die-hard Yankee fans everywhere cringe at the thought and might even consider it blasphemy. However, there's a chance of it becoming a reality.

This is not what the Cowboys wanted to hear on the verge of their biggest game this season. A team fighting for their playoff lives against the Giants this Sunday, now has to cope with an unhappy wide-out.

On February 3rd, 2008 Plaxico Burress could not have been any higher on life. He was one of the heroes in the New York Giants improbable playoff run, culminating in a shocking Super Bowl victory over the previously undefeated New England Patriots.

Roughly 10 months later, Burress has fallen faster than anyone could have.

A few weeks back I labeled the Jets as pretenders in the AFC. Well, after they knocked off the previously undefeated Titans by a shocking score of 34-13, I might have to admit I was wrong. Okay, I was dead wrong. With that resounding victory and the Giants 37-29 win over the Cardinals to move them to 10-1, New York is already having dreams of the two clashing down in Tampa for Super Bowl XLIII.

The Yankees are only a few pieces away from becoming a playoff team once again. The team is certain to make a huge splash this off-season with roughly $88 million to spend on the rich free agent market. The Yankees have never been gun shy in the free agent world, and in order to keep pace with the Rays and Sox, a few big signings by GM Brian Cashman are certainly expected.

Eight weeks have gone by in the 2008 NFL season and the unexpected once again reigns supreme, as it often does in today’s NFL.

War correspondent Kimberly Dozier of CBS News was a victim of a car bombing in Baghdad on Memorial Day in 2006. The blast killed her camera crew, a U.S. army captain and an Iraqi translator, and seriously wounded Dozier. On October 6 she came to talk at Stony Brook.
